Fez Music

Get this, it's great!
At least we know we're NOT the only fools in fezzes and there's
also Sweden's Robert Johnson and Punchdrunk. On BBCs (crappy)
"Children in need" (1997) there was also a group of guys in white
tuxes and fezzes (could have been Sir Bald Diddley, who knows?)
playing surf instrumentals. We'd be grateful for any info on who these
pendejos were.
Also from our Australian Fez Meister, the Duke of Walsh - "Someone told me there is a band in Sydney called the Thurston
Howlers, who play 60s garage punk music. Apparently they wear nice suits
topped off with Fezzes, will have to see if they are playing." Well on
his world fez pilgrimage the Mooncat met the drummer Tim and checked them
out at their July '99 Hopetoun Hotel gig.

There's actually millions of this type of surfy/Egyptian Fez Music,
too much to list but you could check out such things as Jungle Exotica
compilations, Link Wray, Man... or Astroman?, Surf Trio, Vice Barons,
Vibrasonic and some serious jungle grooves such as Screamin' Jay
Hawkins, Gallon Drunk, etc - especially Link Protrudi and the Jaymen's
"Seduction".

For something more psychedelic check out the Great Society's introduction to "White Rabbit" (so much better than that lame Jefferson Airplane hippy crap) and "Debka" by the Churchills. For something slightly more up-to-date, check out Shakira's "Ojos Así". For those of you
who prefer ye olde tyme Fez Muzak, we proudly present...
